Yahzeee's wool , SO diverse!

Yahzeee
Last year a fellow spinner from AZ. bought Yahzeee's wool.  She is separating the outer coat from the soft inner coat and dying the white fibers as well.  Here's a copy of the e-mail sharing her project:

 Hello Cindy,
The churro is amazing.                                                                             The best way I found to separate the fibers is to use combs. The longer white fibers come out beautifully leaving the softer gray fiber behind. You can control the shade of grays by how much white you leave in.
I am using the courser white hairs for weaving a rug. And I haven't started the shawl yet. Life has a way of getting in my way as I know you can relate to.
You can see all the values you can get from these samplings.
And the white takes color well.

ROVING ON & ON & ON...

Graze over the colors/textures and let me know if anything strikes your fancy!

This roving is very dense/plush/soft, and the creamiest &
dreamiest natural butter color. In does have more vm than I prefer, but if you're spinning fine, it truly is no problem at all.

This dark roving is on the soft side & very easy to spin.
It is suitable for many projects.

Fun, bright, loaded with luster!!

My yarn spinning samples

Here are some examples of what I've produced for various projects here and there:
From L to R:
50/50 Churro/Mohair cable yarn (chunky wt.), 50/50 Churro/Mohair single yarn (sportwt.),
100% Churro lamb's wool 2ply (DK - Wrstd wt.), 100% Churro single yarn for felting

Various fibers I've spun with Churro from Top - Bottom:
BFL/Churro, Yak/Merino/Churro,
Churro, w/ a splash of Mohair (the darkest yarn shown)
Same yarns as shown above, but in reverse order.
All 3 yarns are in the worsted to heavy worsted wt. category.

Fall is a flurry, or furry, or BOTH!

  Let me catch my breath!

Life's a flurry blur as I attempt to juggle work and farm responsibilities, and breeding has added to the pile, but my ram Ted is quite the gentleman, and so easy to work with.
I'm excited to see the new lambs this coming spring.  I have two ewes of my own bred, and two ewes which I've sold  [one bred, and one not].
Yes, since purchasing two new Navajo-Churro ewe lambs this fall, and already having 4 other ewes...I felt I needed to do something to help keep my numbers in check. A shepherdess in LA is buying Roseee, and Daizeee.
So, the only other new news right now is...I have some raw fleeces for sale, as well as new roving which arrived in the past month.

Here is what I call....'Spinner's Mix'
It's a combination of HEAVILY SKIRTED raw wool from:
Daizeee (Polypay X), Roseee (N-Churro), Putteee (my Teeswater X wether lamb), & rambouillet.  Daizeee's and Roseee's wool is extra short because it's only 4 months growth as opposed to 6 months (long story short....I needed to take advantage of a shearing opportunity, so I did).   Yeah!

Additional pics of fleeces.....

P.pay/Shet. X ewe:

Daizeee wool options.....spin in the raw (very easy due to low grease & bouncy wool),
or quick wash to a bright, light fluff to card & spin

Breeding line up: lambs due 2013

Fall 2012: I bred a BFL ram to the following Navajo-Churro ewes:

 These are my first two
                Navajo-Churro ewes I bought 4 years ago,
Rosebelle on the left, and Ceeeola on the right.
              Close ups of both ewes.
I feel very strongly the cross will produce beautiful sheep, with great wool.
